Beguine

Brief

To demolish and construct a new home set amoungst National Trust land. The bungalow was demolished to make way for a vernacular home, built on two stories with long catslide roofs.

Insight

  • The brick and tile choice were blended to suit the surroundings.
  • An oak screen with long galleried section gave an interesting front elevation with long eyebrow overhangs.
  • To appease planners a "Chalet" looking style was created at the front, whereas the rear elevation was double gabled and heavily fenestrated with views over the garden.
